Washington, D.C. -- Devin A. Jopp has been appointed as Senior Vice President of Planning and Operations at URAC, a non-profit organization that promotes health care quality through its accreditation and certification programs. In this newly created role, Mr. Jopp, a recognized leader in health insurer technology and business issues, will strengthen URAC's internal operations and continue to build an infrastructure to support future growth of the organization.
"With his in-depth experience of health technology and operations, Mr. Jopp will play a critical role as URAC enhances it educational offerings and plans future standards development activities," says Garry Carneal, URAC president and CEO.
Among other responsibilities, he will oversee standards development, education, publications, operations, human resources and finance. Under his leadership, URAC is scheduled to pursue an aggressive program to develop several new accreditation programs and expand URAC's education program to include online learning.
Prior to joining URAC, Mr. Jopp served as Chief Operating Officer of business programs and chief information officer at the Health Insurance Association of America (HIAA), where he represented HIAA in e-business and e- health issues, including leading HIAA's Business and Technology Initiative. In addition, Mr. Jopp also was responsible for the day-to-day operations of HIAA's membership, meetings and insurance education departments.
