Chicago, Ill. -- United Airlines announced the appointments of two new executives and new responsibilities for two current executives, including the promotion of Lynn Hughitt from Controller to Vice President—Compensation and Benefits. In addition, Dennis M. Cary has been named Vice President-Revenue Management. Barry French will join the company as Vice President-Corporate Communications. In addition, the company has announced that Rick Wysong will now become Vice President-Strategic Planning. With these changes, more than 90 percent of the company's officers are new to the company or their positions in the last two years.
In her new role as vice president-Compensation and Benefits, Hughitt will be a key contributor to United's global human resources strategy and have responsibility for designing and implementing all of the company's compensation and benefits programs worldwide. The newly created position supports the company's goal of developing leading-edge compensation and benefits to attract, retain and motivate quality employees and to create and drive the company's performance culture. Hughitt will assume her new role effective immediately and will continue to act as Controller until her successor is named. She will report to Sara Fields, senior vice president- People.
