Miami, Fla. -- Burger King Corporation announced the appointment of Barbara B. Heim to the position of Vice President, Human Resources Franchise Operations. She will report directly to Pete Smith, Chief Human Resources Officer.
Ms. Heim brings over twenty years of experience in human resources in addition to significant expertise in franchise human resources. She will work closely with Jim Hyatt, Senior Vice President, Franchise Operations, to enhance Burger King Corporation's human resources best practices and tools within the franchise community. She will also be instrumental in driving and elevating the performance management culture.
"Barbara's appointment will increase the human resources support for our North American franchisees as we work together to provide the best systems and tools to build their businesses," said Mr. Smith. "Barbara will also leverage her extensive franchise experience to further optimize the creation of a performance-based culture."
Prior to joining Burger King Corporation, Ms. Heim was the Senior Vice President, Human Resources of Garden Ridge, a retailer with 44 stores in 13 states. Previously she was Vice President, Human Resources for Jiffy Lube International.
Ms. Heim holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Lycoming College, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
