Boston, Mass. -- BostonWorks, a recruitment services provider for Greater Boston's, has launched Career Nights at Starbucks, a monthly event series designed to bring together HR professionals and job seekers in an effort to share knowledge and information critical to landing that next great job.
The events, held at Starbucks locations throughout greater Boston, bring together hiring managers from local businesses, career counselors and recruitment professionals who can share their knowledge with local job seekers looking for new employment opportunities or professional development information.
"The initial response to the Career Nights at Starbucks series was overwhelming," says Tim Murphy, General Manager, BostonWorks. "Over the past three years, BostonWorks has developed strong relationships with the human resources professionals in this market. These relationships allow us to offer local job seekers insight into the hiring process, directly from these professionals who are doing the hiring."
Three pilot events have already been held this year, including ‘Getting your resume to the top of the Pile,’ ‘Jobs in the Finance Industry,’ and ‘Jobs in Hospitality and Service.’ Past speakers at the events have included human resources representatives from major corporations in the Boston area, including Pfizer, Dentaquest Ventures, Starbucks Coffee Company and Hilton Hotels. Other speakers have included local recruitment professionals and career coaches from organizations such as Lee Hecht Harrison.
The Career Nights at Starbucks events are held on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings at local Starbucks locations, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Five events are planned through the remainder of the year, including:
- July 13: Networking Techniques
- August 18: Preparing for an Interview
