London, England. -- The first ever guide-book to ‘next-generation’ e-HR was launched at the annual HR Directors’ Business Summit in London last week by the UK's first independent e-HR systems integrator: Qikker Solutions.
The Qikker Guide to Advanced e-HR introduces the concept of Advanced e-HR, which takes full advantage of Web technologies and ‘best of breed’, standards-based Human Resources (HR) software components.
Over 250 of the UK’s leading HR directors - each with a minimum budgetary responsibility of £500,000 - are attending the summit to conduct business with key HR solution and service providers. “The HR industry recognises that attracting, training and motivating the workforce is crucial to retaining and developing the key individuals within any organization,” says Mark Barlow, Managing Director, Qikker Solutions. “The technology is available, along with the expertise: the time is ripe for forward-thinking organisations to embrace state-of-the-art e-HR - and this publication is designed to open the door to that thinking.”
Advanced e-HR goes far beyond whatever amounts to e-HR today - often no more than a Web site and an invitation to prospective job candidates to submit their CV in electronic form. A typical HR department will process mountains of hard copy print-outs for their recruitment, training and performance management needs, which is incredibly inefficient, time-consuming and expensive.
This new approach offers an exciting alternative to traditional HR systems noted for their high cost, slow response and ‘one size fits all’ mentality. Advanced e-HR is also an opportunity to change an organisation’s culture for the better, enabling employees to do lots more for themselves. “Sensible, cost-effective use of Internet and intranet resources with integrated, best of breed software applications can transform an organisation’s HR functions and deliver demonstrable cost savings within a remarkably short time-frame.”
