Houston -- Continental Airlines has named Mike Bonds senior vice president human resources and labor relations, replacing Michael H. Campbell who retired at the end of 2004. In this position, Bonds, 43, will be responsible for all of Continental's human resources and labor relations, including compensation, benefits, staffing and corporate training. He will continue to report to Jeff Smisek, president.
"Mike has a solid, multi-faceted industry background that brings value to the company and he'll continue our culture of treating each other with dignity and respect," said Larry Kellner chairman and chief executive officer of Continental Airlines.
Bonds served as vice president human resources at Continental since 2003, and held various positions at the company since joining the airline in 1995, including vice president and controller and vice president corporate development.
With Bonds' appointment, Continental continues to operate with a lean senior management team, with officer headcount down 25 percent since 2001.
